Notification according to § 22 Implementing Regulation for the Saxon Building Code (DVOSächsBO)

If you come as an inspection expert from another member state of the European Union, another contracting state of the Agreement on the European Economic Area or from Switzerland and can prove that you meet comparable requirements with regard to the recognition prerequisites and the proof of knowledge, you may carry out this activity in Saxony.

Prior to this, you must notify the Saxony Chamber of Engineers of your first activity by submitting the relevant evidence.

Note: An entry in the list of inspection experts for the inspection of technical systems at the Chamber of Engineers of Saxony does not take place due to the notification.

Single Point of Contact

For this procedure, you can use the service of the Single Point of Contact (Einheitlicher Ansprechpartner). They will guide you through the administrative procedure, take care of correspondence with all the offices responsible for your request and will be available to you as a competent advisor.

• Certificate stating that you are established in a member state of the European Union, another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or in Switzerland for the purpose of performing the duties of an inspection expert.

The Saxony Chamber of Engineers will tell you which further proofs are required.

You are authorized to work as an inspection expert in Saxony if you:

• have a comparable authorization with regard to the field of activity and had to fulfill comparable requirements for this purpose
• and if you have a good command of the German language, both written and spoken.

Note: Even if you are established as an inspection expert in another member state of the European Union, another contracting state of the European Economic Area or in Switzerland, but cannot provide the evidence for an authorization and qualification comparable to the German one, you are allowed to carry out this activity in Saxony. To do so, you need a certificate from the Saxony Chamber of Engineers stating that you meet the relevant requirements. You must apply for this certificate at the Chamber of Engineers by submitting the relevant evidence.

• The notification is made in writing and informally.
• Upon request, the recognition authority shall confirm that the notification has been made.
• The recognition authority shall prohibit the activity if the above-mentioned requirements are not met.
