Notification in accordance with Section 22 (2) sentence 2 of the Implementing Ordinance to the SächsBO (DVOSächsBO)

Persons who are established in another EU member state, another EEA contracting state or Switzerland to perform tasks that comply with the Implementing Ordinance to the SächsBO (DVOSächsBO) are authorised, under certain conditions, to carry out tasks in accordance with the DVOSächsBO as an inspection engineer for fire protection.

The first-time activity must first be notified to the recognition authority. Notification is not required if this has already been done in another state of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Details and evidence:

• a certificate stating that you are established in a member state of the European Union, another signatory state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland for the performance of tasks corresponding to the DVOSächsBO
• proof that you had to fulfil the requirements of Section 22 (2) sentence 1 number 2 DVOSächsBO in the state in which you are established
• proof of written and spoken German language skills for non-German-speaking foreigners
• proof of liability insurance with a liability sum of at least EUR 500,000 each for personal injury, property damage and financial loss per claim, which must be available at least twice in the insurance year; the insurance contract must relate to the activity as a fire protection test engineer and cover claims in Germany

The above-mentioned persons are authorised to carry out tasks as test engineers for fire protection in accordance with the DVOSächsBO if they

• have a comparable authorisation with regard to the field of activity,
• had to fulfil comparable requirements with regard to the recognition requirements and proof of knowledge and
• have a good command of written and spoken German.

Issue of the confirmation: Fees based on time spent (EUR 67.00 per hour of work or part thereof)

Note: The fees are also charged in the event that the activity is prohibited.

Notify the competent authority in an informal letter that you wish to work as a fire safety test engineer for the first time.

Upon request, the authority will confirm that the notification has been made; it should prohibit you from working if the above requirements are not met.
