Application for confirmation as a laboratory for the testing of wastewater in accordance with the EigenkontrollVO (Self-Control Ordinance)

If a company produces wastewater for which there are requirements for the place of production or prior to mixing in accordance with the Wastewater Ordinance (Abwasserverordnung), an officially certified laboratory must be commissioned to carry out the wastewater tests. The confirmation is issued upon written application.

The requirements depend on factors such as the personnel employed, laboratory equipment and analytics, and quality assurance.

Procedural fee

1. The confirmation according to the self-monitoring ordinance must be applied for in writing at the responsible authority
2. In the regularly offered transnational round robin tests "Elements" and "Sum parameters" a professional evaluation
3. The certificates are issued by the State Office for the Environment, Agriculture and Geology (Landesamt für Umwelt, Landwirtschaft und Geologie/(LfULG)) in accordance with the technical proposals of the BfUL.
4. The respective confirmed laboratories can be seen from a list on the internet portal of the BfUL.

Own control in own direction

• Companies wishing to carry out self-monitoring on their own apply for confirmation from the locally responsible water authority (usually: lower water authority at the district office, in Dresden, Leipzig and Chemnitz at the city council).
• The questionnaire for ring participants can also be used to prove the prerequisites.
