Interpreters who wish to work in court (court interpreters) can be sworn in in accordance with the provisions of the Court Interpreters Act (GDolmG). Volltext

Interpreters who wish to work in court (court interpreters) can be sworn in in accordance with the provisions of the Court Interpreters Act (GDolmG). Interpreters who wish to work for public authorities (public authority interpreters) as well as translators and sign language interpreters who wish to work for courts or public authorities can also be sworn in in accordance with the Saxon Interpreters Act (SächsDolmG).

If you would like to carry out such work, you can apply for general swearing-in.

Even if you have already been sworn in and/or publicly appointed in another federal state or outside the Federal Republic of Germany, you can be sworn in in Saxony.

According to the provisions of the GDolmG and the SächsDolmG, the general swearing-in ends after five years. If you would like to continue working as a court interpreter, official interpreter, translator or sign language interpreter, you can apply to extend your general swearing-in authorisation for a further five years. Since current documents are required for the renewal application, it should be submitted at the earliest one year before expiry of the general swearing-in authorisation. If the renewal application is submitted before the expiry of the general swearing-in authorisation, the general swearing-in continues to exist until the decision on the extension has been made by the competent authority.
