Recognition procedure in accordance with § 19 of the Implementing Regulation for the Saxon Building Code (DVOSächsBO)

Testing experts test and certify compliance with building code requirements in their respective field on behalf of the building owner (or another person responsible under building code law). Inspection experts do not perform any sovereign inspection tasks of the building authorities. They are not bound by the instructions of their clients.

Testing experts are recognized by the Saxon Chamber of Engineers in accordance with the Implementing Regulation for the Saxon Building Code (DVOSächsBO) for the following specialist areas

• technical installations and
• earthwork and foundation engineering

The Chamber of Engineers maintains separate lists of inspection experts according to fields and specialties, which are published on its website. Recognized testing experts are entered in the respective list.

Single Point of Contact

For this procedure, you can use the service of the Single Point of Contact (Einheitlicher Ansprechpartner). They will guide you through the administrative procedure, take care of correspondence with all the offices responsible for your request and will be available to you as a competent advisor.

The following documents must be enclosed with the application:

• a curriculum vitae with complete information on the professional career up to the date of application
• a copy of each of the diplomas and certificates of employment
• proof of application for a certificate of good conduct to be submitted to an authority. The application should not be older than three months. Equivalent documents from member states of the European Union and from other signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and from Switzerland will also be accepted.
• Information about other branches
• information on any participation in a company whose purpose is the planning or execution of construction projects
• proof of fulfillment of the special requirements for recognition in the respective fields and, if provided, specializations.

The Chamber of Engineers may request further documents.

You can work as an inspection expert if you:

• your personality is such that you can be relied upon to perform your duties properly,
• have the ability to hold public office,
• work independently and on your own responsibility
• have your place of business in the Free State of Saxony,
• have a command of written and spoken German.

Submit a written application for recognition as a testing expert to the Saxony Chamber of Engineers. The application must state

• for which fields and for which specializations you apply for recognition and
• whether and how often you have already undergone a recognition procedure in these fields and specializations in another country without success.
