If you would like to erect or alter a gravestone or other structural facility in a cemetery, you must obtain the consent of the respective cemetery administration. In the case of municipal cemeteries, this is the local cemetery office.

The cemetery authorities have drawn up by-laws that contain guidelines with more or less detailed information on the design and condition of graves and even the planting of graves. Stonemasonry firms offering gravestones must inform themselves about the existing guidelines. They are obliged to offer their clients only gravesites that comply with the cemetery statutes.
