Before a civil explosive or pyrotechnic article is used for the first time, it must be notified to the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). BAM confirms or adapts the instructions to national regulations and assigns an identification number.

For this procedure, you can use the service of the Single Point of Contact (Einheitlicher Ansprechpartner). They will guide you through the administrative procedure, take care of correspondence with all the offices responsible for your request and will be available to you as a competent advisor.

Send an informal letter with the required information / evidence on the explosive to the Federal Office for Materials Research and Testing (BAM).

Processing via the Single Point of Contact

Since this is a technically very demanding procedure and technically complicated information has to be exchanged in individual cases, it is only expedient to process the application directly at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). The point of single contact should therefore only refer to the Federal Institute. Detailed questions are to be clarified between the applicant and BAM.
