The funding supports road safety education and awareness-raising measures and projects in the Free State of Saxony.
Which projects can be funded?
A: State-wide road safety education and awareness measures
- in the pre-school sector
- in the school sector
- in adult education
B: Regional road safety education and information measures as well as the procurement and establishment of youth and kindergarten traffic schools
- Stationary youth traffic schools
- Mobile youth traffic schools
- Mobile kindergarten traffic schools

Type of funding
Project funding (non-repayable grant)
A: Road safety education / information (nationwide)
Amount
Up to 100 % of eligible expenditure.
B: Road safety education/education, youth and kindergarten traffic schools (regional)
Amount
Up to 80 % of eligible expenditure.
Maximum amounts
- Stationary youth traffic schools: EUR 65,000
- Mobile youth traffic schools: EUR 50,000
- Mobile kindergarten traffic schools: EUR 25,000
Note: There is no legal entitlement to this funding.

- a detailed description of the measures
- a financing plan outlining the expenditure and the intended financing
For the procurement and equipping of a facility (category B), additionally:
- a statement from the responsible road traffic authority that there is a local need and that the project meets the minimum requirements
- for equipment procured by local road safety organisations: a statement from the Landesverkehrswacht Sachsen e. V.
- a capacity utilisation concept for stationary youth traffic schools
- In the case of construction measures, additionally: a form in accordance with model 5 for § 44 VwV-SäHO and a construction plan including a construction description and a construction schedule
If necessary, the responsible departments may request further documents.
Eligible applicants
Independent organisations and non-profit associations that carry out measures to increase road safety in accordance with their statutes
Further requirements - traffic schools
Funding for the establishment of traffic schools requires a proven need in accordance with the requirements of the funding guideline. The minimum requirements for stationary and mobile youth traffic schools and mobile kindergarten traffic schools are set out in the funding guidelines in Annexes 5 to 7 (see "Legal basis").
- Please apply for funding in writing using the prescribed form (see –> forms and other offers).
- Compile the other documents and submit them with the application to the department responsible.
- The department responsible will review your application.
- You will receive a written decision as to whether and to what extent your project can be funded.
Disbursement / proof of utilisation
- Call up the approved funds with the disbursement application.
- After the authorisation period has expired, submit the proof of use.
for category A measures:
- by 30 November of the previous year
for measures under category B:
- Road safety education and awareness measures by 30 November of the previous year
- Establishment of traffic schools by 28 February of the current year at the latest
Please note! Funding is only granted if the implementation of the measure has not yet begun. If you would like to start a measure or project early, please apply accordingly.
