Announcement of an expert for the performance of safety inspections and inspections of safety-related documents in accordance with § 29a of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG)
If necessary, the operator of a plant must commission an expert to carry out safety inspections and inspections of safety-related documents. This expert must be notified by the competent authority of a country.
The expert can only be permitted to carry out the inspection if he fulfills the requirements. These include
- required technical knowledge
- Independence
- reliability
- technical equipment
The notification is always made by the competent authority of the country in which you, as the applicant, have your place of business. The notification is valid for the whole of Germany.
Note: If your place of business is not in Germany, the country in which your activity is primarily to be carried out is responsible.

For this procedure, you can use the service of the Single Point of Contact (Einheitlicher Ansprechpartner). They will guide you through the administrative procedure, take care of correspondence with all the offices responsible for your request and will be available to you as a competent advisor.

- Notification as an expert in accordance with Section 29b BImSchG requires a complete application with the necessary evidence.
- The standardized application form can be downloaded from www.resymesa.de (see -> Detailed information) and completed.
- With regard to the necessary information in the application as a mandatory requirement for notification as an expert for safety inspections, reference is made to § 7ff in conjunction with Annex 2 of the 41st Ordinance to the BImSchG, or 41st BImSchV for short.
- Submit your application for notification as a test expert for safety technology to the responsible body. (see -> Further information)
- The competent body examines the application received and, if necessary, makes additional requests for the submission of missing or inadequate documents.
- The competent body obtains opinions from other notified bodies.
- If all requirements are met, the competent body will send you the notification and the invoice to be paid.
- The notification will be published on the website of the "ReSyMeSa" search system (www.resymesa.de).
After receipt of the complete documents, your application will be processed and decided within four months.
