The register of associations is public and has the purpose of making the factual and legal circumstances of the registered association (e. V.) ascertainable for third parties at any time. By inspecting the register of associations, you can find out, for example, who represents an association externally as the executive board.
Joint register portal of the Länder
Since the concentration of the register of associations on the local courts of Chemnitz, Dresden and Leipzig on 01.11.2010, the register of associations in Saxony has been kept electronically. Online inspection of the electronically kept registers is possible via the register portal of the Länder. Data from the following public registers are available on the joint internet portal of the German register courts:
- Commercial Register
- Register of Cooperatives
- Partnership register
- Register of associations (in part)
Note: Registers of associations that are not yet kept electronically can be viewed directly at the competent register court. You can obtain a copy of the register of associations on request.
There are no special requirements to be met in order to inspect the data. Data may only be used for information purposes.

Anyone may inspect the register of associations without further ado. Electronic access is provided nationwide via the joint register portal of the Länder.
- You have the possibility to search specifically for registered associations by entering keywords.
- As a result of the search, various documents are regularly offered.
- From 01.08.2022, all documents available online will be available for retrieval free of charge.
Inspection at the Register Court
You can continue to inspect the register of associations at the registry court during business hours and have a printout or copy made there. Upon your request, a certified copy or an official printout will be issued to you.
