Announcement of a body for the determination of the type and extent of the emission emanating from the plant as well as the immission in the area of influence of the plant.

In the field of immission protection, plant operators are obliged to have certain officially ordered emission determinations and immission measurements carried out. These investigations serve to measure air pollution, noise and vibrations as well as to calibrate and test the function of automatic measuring equipment.

The determinations can be carried out by certain bodies, which are announced by the responsible departmentof a federal state. This procedure is also called notification and must be applied for by you, as such an investigating body.

The notification is always made by the responsible department of the state in which you, as the applicant, have your place of business. The notification is valid for the entire federal territory.

Note: If your place of business is not in Germany, the country in which your activity is primarily to be carried out is responsible.

In all cases, the system operator is basically free to choose between the notified bodies.

Bodies to be announced within the meaning of Section 29b Paragraph 1 of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImschG) must:

•  be legal persons or partnerships established in a member state of the European Union or another contracting state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (Section 3 41. BImSchV).
• Have an accreditation from the accreditation body based on the LAI's "Proof of Expertise for Investigations in the Field of Immission Control" (immission control module).
  Deviating from this, proof of competence for the testing area of ​​activity group III of Annex 1 of the 41st BImSchV (inspection of transiently operated measuring devices) must be provided by a certificate in accordance with Section 7 of VDI Guideline 4208 Sheet 2, October 2011 edition.
• operate a quality assurance system based on DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
  Deviating from this, a quality assurance system based on DIN EN ISO 9001, December 2008 edition, is sufficient for the testing area of ​​activity group III number 1 of Appendix 1 of the 41st BImSchV.

To do this, certain requirements must be met by:

• the personnel,
• knowledge of measurement and test procedures,
• the technical equipment,
• practical experience,
• knowledge of the plant and
• knowledge of specific immission control regulations must be fulfilled.
