Psychologische(r) Psychotherapeut(in), Prüfungszulassung beantragen

Training in the specialism of psychological psychotherapy includes a state examination. Proof of passing the examination is a prerequisite for a licence to practise as a psychological psychotherapist. Admission to the examination in Saxony is granted on application by the Landesdirektion.

Training to become a psychological psychotherapist takes at least three years full-time and at least five years part-time. It consists of a theoretical part, practical training with patient treatment under supervision and self-awareness and concludes with a state examination. This comprises a written and an oral part.

Among other things, you must enclose with your application

• Birth certificate
• Marriage certificate / civil partnership certificate (only in case of name change)
• Proof that you have passed the examination in the Psychology degree programme (which includes the subject Clinical Psychology) or a certificate of equivalent training and diploma certificate (original and one copy in each case)
• Certificate of participation in the training courses (original)
• Training contract (copy sufficient)
• 2 confirmed case presentations (1 short version and 1 long version), which have been accepted by the training centre as an examination case, each in quadruplicate (on paper)

You can take the state examination in Saxony if you have taken part in a full-time or part-time training programme at one of the approved Saxon institutes.

Determination for the aptitude test: EUR 50.00 - EUR 100.00

You must register in writing for the state examination as a psychological psychotherapist.

• Submit your application with the required documents to the Landesprüfungsamt (State Examination Office).
