The full-time training programme lasts at least three years, part-time at least five years. It consists of a theoretical part, practical training with patient treatment under supervision and self-awareness and concludes with a state examination. This comprises a written and an oral part.
Among other things, you must enclose with your application
- Birth certificate
- Marriage certificate/life partnership certificate (only in the case of a change of name)
- Proof that you have passed the examination in the Psychology degree programme (which includes Clinical Psychology) or a certificate of equivalent training and diploma certificate (original and one copy)
- Certificate of participation in the training courses (original)
- Training contract (copy sufficient)
- 2 confirmed case presentations (1 short version and 1 long version), which have been accepted by the training centre as an examination case, each in quadruplicate (on paper)
Further documents are listed in the application form.

You must register in writing for the state examination as a psychotherapist for children and adolescents. Use the prescribed form for this. Submit your application with the required documents to the relevant office.
