Application for recognition of continuing education events and continuing education organizers according to § 9 and § 10 of the Statutes of Continuing Education and Certificate of Continuing Education of the Saxon State Medical Association (Sächsische Landesärztekammer).

As an organizer of continuing medical education courses, you must have them recognized by the Saxon State Medical Association. Continuing education courses on medical topics must be designed and conducted under the scientific direction of a physician.

Training event

Certain requirements must be met in order for a training event to be recognized. These include that the training content to be imparted must

• correspond to the objectives of the professional code of conduct and these continuing education regulations,
• take into account the national recommendations of the medical associations for the quality assurance of continuing medical education, andare free of economic interests.
• In principle, the training should be open to the public. You as the organizer and also the speakers must disclose economic connections to industry to the Saxon State Medical Association.

Further education provider

In order to be recognized as a training organizer, you must have

• be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the conception, organization, implementation and evaluation of continuing medical education measures,
• have already participated in the certification procedure of the Saxon Medical Association and
• all continuing education measures submitted by you must have been recognized.

Notes:

• At the request of the Saxon State Medical Association, you must be able to present your internal quality assurance procedure.
• The recognized continuing education organizer is entitled to evaluate category A, B and C continuing education measures planned by him on his own responsibility and carried out in Saxony according to the Statutes on Continuing Education. The continuing education measures evaluated by the recognized continuing education organizer are open to physicians and are announced in a suitable form. The recognized events must convey medical expertise at the current level of scientific knowledge, comply with the objectives of the professional code of conduct, be free of economic interests of third parties and be under qualified medical supervision.

The recognition is applied for by the physician acting as scientific director and the organizer at the responsible office.

• Recognition is granted through the awarding of continuing education points. You will be informed about the amount of points awarded by the Saxon State Medical Association.
• After successful recognition of your continuing education event, it will automatically be published in the online continuing education calendar on the homepage of the SLÄK.

At the request of the Saxon State Medical Association, you must submit a declaration of company and product neutrality of all speakers and moderators, as well as the financing of your continuing education event. After the event has been held, the participants must be reported electronically to the Electronic Information Distributor (EIV) and a copy of the list of participants must be provided to the Saxon State Medical Association for its information.

If you wish to be recognized as a continuing education organizer, you must also submit an application to the Saxon State Medical Association for this purpose.
