Application for the granting of subsidies in accordance with the guidelines on the granting of subsidies for local public transport (RL-ÖPNV), No. 01010
With this funding programme, the Free State of Saxony supports projects to improve local public transport (ÖPNV), in particular investments in infrastructure and vehicles. The grants are intended to improve accessibility.

- Vehicles:
- up to 40 %
- with barrier-free equipment: up to 50
- Infrastructure measures: 75 %
- in justified individual cases: 90 %
Note: There is no legal entitlement to this funding.
Eligible applicants
- Local transport companies and rail infrastructure companies whose railway lines are used by local transport companies
- local authorities and their associations in accordance with Section 4 (1) ÖPNVG
Applicants must prove that
- the project will improve public transport in the Free State of Saxony,
- the objectives of the local public transport plan in accordance with Section 8 (3) of the Passenger Transport Act (PBefG) in conjunction with Section 5 ÖPNVG have been observed,
- The interests of people with disabilities and other mobility impairments are taken into account and the project fulfils the requirements of accessibility as far as possible,
- the relevant disability representatives or disability advisory councils have been consulted during the planning of the project. If a local authority does not have representatives for the disabled or advisory councils for the disabled, the relevant associations within the meaning of Section 5 BGG must be consulted instead.
Projects to be funded must first be registered with the State Office for Road Construction and Transport (LASuV) for inclusion in the state public transport programme. The state office also advises on the application process.
The application for funding must be submitted to the State Office for Road Construction and Transport by 15 October of the previous year of the planned implementation or realisation of the measure at the latest.
