If you wish to establish yourself in one of the following medical professions, you must notify the local competent health authority of the commencement of your activity in accordance with the Saxon Health Services Act (SächsGDG). If your personal details change, if you relocate your practice or if you give up your activity, you must also inform the public health department immediately.

The activity in these medical professions is subject to notification:

• doctor
• dentist
• psychological psychotherapist or psychological psychotherapist
• child and adolescent psychotherapist or therapist
• pharmacist
• alternative practitioner
• geriatric nurse
• dietician
• occupational therapist
• midwife or maternity nurse
• health and paediatric nurse
• health and paediatric nurse
• speech therapist
• massage therapist and medical bath attendant
• emergency paramedic
• orthoptist
• pharmaceutical-technical assistant
• physiotherapist
• nursing specialist
• podiatrist
• medical-technical laboratory assistant
• medical-technical radiology assistant Medical-technical radiology assistant
• medical-technical assistant for functional diagnostics
• veterinary medical-technical assistant or veterinary medical-technical assistant or
• as a self-employed disinfector or self-employed disinfector

• Your profession corresponds to one of the listed medical professions
• you would like to take up self-employment in this profession or are already registered with the public health department

EUR 5.00 to EUR 45.00, usually EUR 25.00

You can notify the public health department in person or in writing about your health-related activities. If available for your location, use the online service in Amt24 (see -> Online application and forms).

You must provide the following information:

• name
• address of the establishment
• scope of the activity
• submission of authorisation to practise the profession and to use the professional title

The public health department will check your notification.

When you commence work, you will usually be issued with a certificate of establishment and a fee notice.

Please note! You may have to collect the certificate of notification of establishment in person. Please enquire with the responsible office in advance.
