Seniorenvertretung

The Landesseniorenvertretung Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. is an honorary, non-denominational and non-partisan organization. It does not pursue any economic goals and its members do not receive any benefits.

The following areas of responsibility fall within its remit:

• It advises members of its own generation on individual options in their personal lives with the aim of promoting activities and independence and maintaining them for as long as possible.

• It informs the public about the fundamental possibilities and developments in policy for the elderly, also with the aim of encouraging older citizens to actively participate in all aspects of life.

• It advises the council and administration as well as providers of work with the elderly and other institutions relevant to the elderly in the run-up to decisions on plans and measures relevant to the older generation.

Note:

Every two years, the state parliament and the Saxony-Anhalt Senior Citizens' Association organize a Seniors' Forum. The aim is not only to raise public awareness of the interests and problems of older people, but also to make the concerns of senior citizens more tangible in state politics.
