If you have lost a weapon, ammunition or a firearms permit, such as a firearms possession card or carry permit, you must report this.
You must report the loss of all firearms licenses. Weapons licenses include the following: Weapons possession card, hunting license, ammunition purchase permit, firearms license, small firearms license, shooting permit, European firearms pass, replacement certificate for WBK, other permit certificates (e.g. transfer permit).
You can also report the loss of several weapons/ammunition and permits in one report.
If you report that you have lost permits, you should also apply for replacement documents to be issued to you at the same time.
You must also report to the police that you have lost weapons and permits.
If you find the weapons and permits again, you must report this to the relevant weapons authority. Any replacement documents issued must be returned.
You can use the NWR identification numbers (NWR ID) to complete the report more quickly:
- Your personal NWR ID (P or F NWR ID) for your personal details
- the permit NWR ID for the firearms permit (E-NWR ID)
- the weapon or weapon part NWR ID (W or T NWR ID).
You can obtain the NWR IDs on application to the relevant weapons authority.
You must report the loss of weapons, ammunition or permits to the competent weapons authority.
- Notification of the loss of weapons, ammunition or permit certificates requiring a permit
- Loss of weapons, ammunition or permit certificates must be reported immediately to the responsible weapons authority
- Notification of loss to the police is also required
- Permission documents are gun ownership cards, hunting licenses, ammunition purchase licenses, gun licenses, small firearms licenses, shooting permits, European firearms pass, replacement certificate for gun ownership card (WBK), other permission documents (transfer permits, etc.).
