Playground sponsors are covered by statutory accident insurance in accordance with § 2 Para. 1 No. 10 SGB VII.
Playground mentors look after the cleanliness and safety of your chosen playground and act as an intermediary between children, parents and the contact person in the city.
Playground mentors are volunteers who regularly visit "their playground" to check that everything is in order. They mediate between the playground users and the city administration. With their support and direct contact to the contact persons in the city administration, conflicts between playground users or damage to the equipment can be quickly identified and rectified. The sponsors do not enter into any financial obligations and decide for themselves to what extent they want to get involved. They help to ensure that playgrounds become and remain a popular meeting place for many children and young people, as well as their parents.
Tasks in brief:
- Regular visits to the playground or football pitch (e.g. 1 to 2 times a week during the playground season from spring to fall)
- Reporting damage, soiling and conflicts with other users to the relevant departments
- Contact person for children, young people and parents
- Possibility of organizing and holding playground parties
- Simple clean-ups (broken glass etc.)
You can become a playground sponsor:
- Citizens (extended certificate of good conduct required*)
- Schools, kindergartens
- clubs
- political parties
- Companies/enterprises that look after a playground or football pitch on a voluntary basis.
*This can be requested free of charge from the city(more information).
