Anyone wishing to practice medicine without being a doctor requires a permit under the Heilpraktikergesetz (HeilprG).

The application for the examination for the issuance of the alternative practitioner examination (also sectoral) takes place in the Department of Health.

The application process is subject to a fee.  
On the basis of § 7 para. 2 sentence 1 of the Administrative Costs Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (VwKostG LSA), an advance on costs of at least 300 euros must be paid and proven with the application if an oral and written knowledge test is possible.
