If you have been entered in the register of craftsmen with your craft subject to licensing, you will receive the craft card as proof.

The entry in the register of craftsmen is necessary if you want to operate a craft in Germany that requires approval. This also applies if you only want to independently exercise a substantial part of a craft subject to licensing.
Registration in the Register of Craftsmen is possible for:

• natural or legal persons, and
• partnerships with legal capacity.

The Chamber of Crafts issues a certificate in the form of a craft card for entry in the Register of Craftsmen. On the craft card it is noted:

• the name and address of the holder,
• place of business,
• the craft or crafts to be operated subject to licensing,
• the date of registration,
• where applicable, the name of the management or partner responsible for the technical management.

You do not have to renew the craft card annually, as it remains valid until the specified dates change.
