Batteries contain environmentally harmful substances. Therefore, you need to separate the batteries from your household waste.
Batteries and rechargeable batteries contain valuable raw materials, but sometimes also dangerous substances that can harm the environment. In order to prevent this and to be able to recover secondary raw materials, old and defective batteries must be disposed of separately.
Old and defective batteries and rechargeable batteries can be returned free of charge wherever batteries are sold, e.g. in supermarkets, drugstores, electrical or DIY stores.
So-called industrial batteries, such as those used in e-bikes, e-scooters or photovoltaic systems, can be returned to the respective dealers free of charge.
The municipal recycling centres are also taking back old batteries and rechargeable batteries.
