Before you can take the state final examinations for a teaching profession, you must have completed an academic paper. You can apply to the State Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications for admission to the academic paper if you meet the requirements for the relevant teaching profession.

• You are studying to become a teacher at Martin Luther University Halle, Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle or the Protestant University of Church Music.
• You must provide proof of the required credit points:
  • Elementary school and secondary school 150 LP each
  • grammar school and special school 180 LP each.
• You formulate a topic in consultation with a university lecturer. This must comply with the legal requirements.
• You select two university lecturers as assessors. You have their consent confirmed by signature on the application for admission

• You fill out the "Application for admission to the first state examination for academic term papers".
• You complete the data collection sheet.
• You submit both to the State Examination Office for Teaching Qualifications (LPA) by the deadline.
• The State Examination Office will approve the topic and send it to you.
• The approved topic is binding and may only be changed with the approval of the LPA.
• You can only apply to the LPA to change the topic within one month. The change must be confirmed by both examiners.

• The preparation of an academic term paper is a prerequisite for admission to the state final examinations.
• Admission to the academic term paper can be applied for if a certain number of credit points have been acquired.
• The applicant formulates a topic in accordance with the requirements of the LPVO and in consultation with a university lecturer.
• They must find two reviewers who confirm the topic and the assumption of the review.
