Issuance of electronic certificate of origin and other certificate for foreign trade

- The certificate of origin plays a role in the application of preferential duties and anti-dumping measures or is used for price control, the monitoring of import restrictions and similar purposes. The certificate of origin is a clear proof of the commercial origin of goods drawn up by an independent body. In international trade in goods, proof of origin is often required.

Where the application shows that the goods have been manufactured 'in another establishment', proof of origin must be provided at the time of application which clearly indicates the origin of the goods:
- Certificate of origin of the upstream supplier
- Supplier declarations
- Manufacturer's invoices, delivery notes or other business documents from manufacturers from the European Union if they indicate that the goods have been manufactured in their own company.

- Upon request, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce shall issue the certificates of origin and/or other certificates used for foreign trade. For this purpose, it is necessary that you have your registered office, your permanent establishment or your residence in the HWK district and that the goods are ready for dispatch or are in the dispatch at least in the customs territory of the European Union. Blank certificates of origin cannot be issued.

Registration can be done within a few minutes. The documents are usually issued within working hours on the same day.

Electronically issued certificates of origin and certified documents are generally recognised. Exception: Federal Office of Administration (BVA).

When companies use the eUZ application, they will continue to have the option of applying for certificates of origin and paper commercial documents.

Documents to be certified must be uploaded in PDF format.
