For the construction and operation of warehouses in which explosive substances are to be stored or for significant changes to these warehouses, you require a permit in accordance with the Explosives Act.

Explosive substances have a great potential for danger. The aim of the Explosives Act (SprengG) is to protect people and property from these dangers.

Against this background, you generally require a storage permit in accordance with the Explosives Act for the storage of explosive substances. Significant changes to an approved storage facility or significant changes to its operation also require a permit. If you store a net explosive mass of 10 tons or more, you need a permit in accordance with § 4 of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG). The permit according to BImSchG is then also valid as a permit according to the Explosives Act.

A storage permit may not be required if the "small quantities" specified in the Second Ordinance to the Explosives Act (2. SprengV) are not exceeded.

• As a rule, an on-site appointment is arranged.
• On-site inspection and, if necessary, request for additional documents.
• Notification of the decision and request for payment.
• The number of application records is to be agreed with the clerk.

The processing time starts after the application documents are complete.
