Under certain conditions, severely disabled people are allowed to park in places where this is usually not allowed. Authorized persons can also use the parking facilities as a passenger. A separate driving licence is not required.

In Saxony-Anhalt, 3 different parking permits are issued and recognized:

• The "Blue Parking Card" (EU-wide)
• The "Orange Parking Card" (nationwide)
• The "White Parking Card" (only in Saxony-Anhalt)

The blue parking card

This parking permit is issued to people with an exceptional walking disability or to the blind. With this parking permit, you can park in a disabled parking space in all EU member states (parking spaces with a wheelchair symbol). In addition, with this parking permit you will receive the following facilities:

• up to three hours of parking with a restricted stop ban (signs 286, 290)
• parking on traffic-calmed areas under certain conditions
• Parking in residents' parking lots
• Free parking in paid parking zones

The orange parking permit

This parking card is issued to severely disabled people who do not meet the requirements for the blue parking permit. However, there are still prerequisites.

With this parking permit, you are not allowed to park in the disabled parking spaces. However, they have the following facilitations:

• up to three hours of parking with a restricted stop ban (signs 286, 290)
• parking on traffic-calmed areas under certain conditions
• Parking in residents' parking lots
• Free parking in paid parking zones

The white parking card

This parking card is issued to people who temporarily (up to 6 months) suffer from functional limitations of the lower limbs. You will receive the same facilities as with the blue parking permit.

• Application
• Severely disabled person's pass or proof that the requirements are met
• for the "blue parking permit": a photograph (newer photo, without headgear, dimensions: 35 x 45 mm)
• for authorised representatives: written power of attorney and identity card of the applicant (also in certified copy)

For the blue parking permit

• You are exceptionally handicapped and the mark "aG" is noted in your severely disabled pass
• Or you are blind and the mark Bl is noted in your severely disabled id card
• Or you are severely disabled with bilateral Amelie or Phocomelia or comparable functional limitations

For the orange parking permit

• They are severely disabled with the marks G and B and
  • a degree of disability (GdB) of at least 80 for functional disorders of the lower limbs alone (and the lumbar spine, insofar as these affect the ability to walk)
• or you are severely disabled with the marks G and B and
  • a GdB of at least 70 for functional disorders of the lower limbs (and the lumbar spine, insofar as these affect the ability to walk) and
  • at the same time a GdB of at least 50 for functional disorders of the heart or respiratory organs
• or you are severely disabled and have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis if there is a GdB of at least 60
• or you are severely disabled with an artificial intestinal outlet and at the same time artificial urinary drainage, if there is a GdB of at least 70

For the white parking permit

• You suffer from severe functional limitations of the lower limbs due to illness, surgery or accident
• Due to the functional limitations, you can only cover short distances
• The restriction is only temporary (up to 6 months)

The respective parking permit is temporary. For the extension, you will need to submit another application.
