With the Bildungsförderung (BAföG) you can complete a school or university education regardless of your economic origin.

If you are studying, training at school or doing an internship abroad, you can also apply for BAföG.

Funding for studies within the EU is possible until graduation. If you are studying outside the EU, you can generally receive funding for 1 year. In exceptional cases, funding is also possible for 2.5 years.

Your tuition fees and travel expenses are also taken into account in the calculation.

• You must meet the general requirements for BAföG in Germany
• For training stays outside the EU:
  • the duration of the training is at least 6 months or 1 semester

Educational support under the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) enables young people to complete a school or university education that corresponds to their abilities and interests, regardless of their social and economic situation.

The responsible body depends on the country in which you would like to complete the training or internship. The Studentenwerk in Halle (Saale) is responsible for Finland.
