Deutschlandstipendium beantragen

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has been offering the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship since the summer semester of 2011. The scholarship provides 300 euros per month to students and first-year students who are expected to achieve outstanding academic and professional results. Half from the federal government and the other half from private donors: in the medium term, up to 8% of all students at German universities are to benefit from the new alliance of civil society involvement and state funding, with the number of recipients set to grow continuously.

The concept of achievement on which the scholarship is based is deliberately broad: Good grades and academic achievements are just as much a part of it as the willingness to take on responsibility or successfully overcoming obstacles in one's own life and educational path.

Scholarship holders receive the income-independent grant of 300 euros per month (in addition to BAföG benefits) for at least 2 semesters and at most until the end of the standard period of study so that they can successfully concentrate on their university education.

The awarding of the scholarships is decided by committees at the respective universities. Most universities in Saxony-Anhalt participate in the program.

• a letter of motivation of no more than two pages,
• a curriculum vitae in tabular form,
• the certificate of university entrance qualification, in the case of foreign certificates a conversion into the German grading system,

• Proof of academic achievementsif already completed,
• a certificate of enrollment, if already issued,
• for applicants for a place on a Master's degree course, the certificate of a first university degree and, if applicable, further proof of performance in accordance with the admission and selection regulations for the Master's degree course,
• If applicable, proof of a special qualification that entitles the applicant to study the respective degree program,
• If applicable, internship and work references as well as proof of special awards and prizes, other knowledge and further commitment,
• if applicable, a declaration of special social, family or personal circumstances

Each university decides on its own requirements. As a rule, you must have an outstanding academic record. In addition, students who are socially committed are often selected.
