Self-employed persons in particular may suffer a loss of earnings due to quarantine or ban on work incur additional expenses. For example, many self-employed people have to pledge their valuables due to the threat to their livelihood.

If you are also affected by this, these additional expenses can be reimbursed to a reasonable extent.

This is a so-called "optional benefit". This means that the authorities have leeway to assess whether a claim exists and how high it is.

• Proof of the additional expenses incurred
• Proof of payment
• Proof of the threat to existence

In the event of quarantine or a ban on work, you are entitled to compensation for any additional expenses incurred if

• you are entitled to compensation for your loss of earnings
• the additional expenses are incurred due to the loss of earnings and
• your livelihood is at risk.
