Food chemists from other countries of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland can apply for recognition of their diploma or university degree as a state examination for state-certified food chemists for Saxony-Anhalt.
Professional qualifications from countries which are equivalent to a Member State of the European Economic Area by agreement shall also be recognised as state examinations within the meaning of § 2 paragraph 1 no. 3 of the Food Chemists Act of Saxony-Anhalt if the professional qualifications meet the requirements for equivalence under Articles 11 to 13 of Directive 2005/36/EC.
For the equivalence of professional qualifications within the meaning of § 2 paragraph 2 sentence 2 of the Food Chemists Act Saxony-Anhalt and paragraph 1, the acquired professional experience is to be taken into account on the basis of Article 14 paragraph 5 of Directive 2005/36/EC.
Persons with professional qualifications pursuant to paragraph 1 or paragraph 2 of § 2 of the Food Chemists Act shall, upon application, be issued with a permit in accordance with § 2 (1) of the Food Chemists Act of Saxony-Anhalt. The prerequisite is that, in accordance with § 2 paragraph 1 no. 4 of the Food Chemists Act Saxony-Anhalt, the command of the German language, spoken and written, is proven for the professional activity on the basis of Article 53 of Directive 2005/36/EC. Articles 50 to 52(1) of Directive 2005/36/EC also apply to the procedure.
If the equivalence of the level of training is not given or can only be determined with unreasonable time or material effort, an equivalent level of knowledge must be proven. Proof is provided by passing an aptitude test. In all other respects, Article 14 of Directive 2005/36/EC shall apply.
You must submit the application for recognition of your training informally in writing to the competent authority.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the State of Saxony-Anhalt shall acknowledge receipt of the application and the documents within one month and, if necessary, inform them of any documents that are still missing.
It assesses the submitted documents, decides on the recognition of your vocational training and the scope of the aptitude test and informs you of the decision within four months.
Administrative fees are charged for the application process. The fee can cost up to 600 euros.
The time limit for the adoption of comparable accounts or for the adoption of equivalent accounts shall be three months. The period begins upon receipt of the complete documentation.
