You want to operate a restaurant temporarily for a special reason? Then you must report this in writing.

If you want to operate a catering business in the standing business for a special reason and only temporarily, you must notify this in writing in good time.

You must indicate the duration and the special occasion in the advertisement.

A special occasion exists if

• the gastronomic activity to a short-term,
• non-common event,
• which lies outside the gastronomic activity itself.

These are, for example:

• Village festivals
• Shooting festivals
• Sporting events
• Concerts
• Markets

You must also indicate in your ad what food you offer and whether you want to offer alcoholic beverages.

If something changes in your details in the advertisement, you must inform us immediately in writing.

You do not have to submit a notification if you have a travel trade card for the operation of the catering industry to be displayed.

You submit your notification to the competent authority.

The competent body shall forward the information without delay to:

• the competent building supervisory authority
• the place for food control,
• immission control,
• health protection and
• the protection of minors
• the tax office
• the Customs Administration.

If the information and documents are complete, the application will be processed promptly.

You must submit the notification at least 2 weeks before the start of operations.

If something changes to your details in the advertisement, you must immediately notify us in writing.

You must make a business advertisement in accordance with § 14 of the Trade Code and the Trade Registration Ordinance.

• As soon as alcoholic beverages are to be served in a restaurant, a background check is carried out.
• A catering business is operated by anyone who commercially administers drinks or food for consumption at his establishment.
