In order to carry out animal experiments on vertebrate animals, approval of the experimental project by the competent authority is required.
A written application must be submitted for approval with all the necessary information on the experimental project.
The necessary information for the application can be found in the information sheet.
The permit is subject to a fee. The fees are determined according to the respective cost or fee schedule.
Animal experiments that are required or provided for by law or ordered by the authorities are not subject to approval. These must be notified to the competent authority at least two weeks before the start of the meeting.
Anyone wishing to carry out animal experiments must appoint an animal welfare officer and report this to the competent authority.
