If you would like to operate an assessment centre for driving aptitude , you need recognition by the competent authority.

The prerequisite is that

• the financial and organisational capacity of the institution is ensured,
• the staffing of a sufficient number of doctors and psychologists is ensured,
• where necessary, an officially recognised expert or examiner is available for motor vehicle traffic,
• the necessary premises and equipment are available,
• the body is accredited by the Federal Highway Research Institute and
• the applicant is reliable.

Recognition may be accompanied by ancillary provisions, in particular conditions.

Requirements for the doctor

Doctor with at least two years of clinical experience (in particular internal medicine, psychiatry, neurology) or specialist, in addition with at least one year of practice in the assessment of the suitability of drivers in an assessment body for driving ability.

Requirements for the psychologist

Diploma or equivalent master's degree in psychology, at least two years of practical work (usually in clinical psychology, occupational psychology) and at least one year of practice in assessing the suitability of drivers in a driving aptitude assessment body.

According to No. 214.1 Fee schedule for measures in road traffic (RFees): 128.00 Euro to 2.556,00 Euro

There are no deadlines to be observed.
