For language transmission for judicial, official and notarial purposes, translators (written transmission) and interpreters (oral transmission) may be sworn and publicly appointed in accordance with the Interpreting Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (DolmG LSA). Sworn and publicly appointed translators and interpreters are entered in an electronic directory (directory of translators, interpreters and interpreters). The directory is accessible on the Internet and can be consulted by anyone. The entries in the electronic directory can be processed via the Land coordinators at the Regional Court of Halle.
The general oath has the advantage that, when consulted by a court or a notary in the district of the regional court in which the interpreter was generally sworn, the appeal to the general oath is sufficient instead of taking the oath in individual cases.
- Application
- Certificate of good conduct for authorities
- written statement as to whether criminal proceedings or investigations are pending against you
- Passport or identity card
- Registration certificate
- if applicable, permanent residence permit
- Declaration of good repute and whether insolvency proceedings are or have been pending
All documents required to check the requirements for taking the oath (e.g. passport or identity card, registration certificate, permanent residence permit, if applicable) must be attached to the application in the original or in certified photocopy.
Fee range 25.60 euros to 153.40 euros according to No. 4.1 of the schedule of fees for the Justice Costs Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt
Interpreters who are not generally sworn may also be called upon to attend court hearings. Before commencing work, however, the interpreter must then be sworn in for this hearing by the presiding judge.
The President of the Regional Court in whose district the applicant has his or her professional establishment is responsible for the general swearing and public appointment. For applicants without a professional establishment, the main residence is decisive.
The general swearing in and public appointment takes place upon written request. There are no official forms for the application.
