Dogs for which the competent authority has determined the dangerousness in individual cases may only be kept with a permit . Permission to keep such a dog must be applied for in writing to the competent authority.
Three months after the determination of the dangerousness of a dog in individual cases, the dog owner must submit the documents necessary to check the existence of the permit requirements.

Proof of the character test must be provided within six months of the birth of the dog.
Permission is only granted if the dog owner:
- has reached the age of 18,
- proof of reliability, personal suitability and expertise,
- proves by a character test that the dog has no increased aggressiveness or dangerousness towards humans or animals (ability of the dog to socially acceptable behavior),
- immutably identifies the dog (transponder),
- proves the conclusion of a liability insurance.
The competent authority shall provide information on the details of the authorisation procedure and the specific obligations for keeping and keeping the dog applicable during the procedure.
