The competent authority may order that
- the dischargers of waste water into bodies of water for which there is no obligation to appoint water protection officers in any case
- the dischargers of waste water into waste water plants,
- the operators of installations for handling substances hazardous to water,
- the operators of pipeline installations must appoint one or more water protection officers via the environmental impact assessment.
