If you are accommodated in a place of accommodation, you must register with the registration office as soon as your stay exceeds six months.
If you do not have an apartment within Germany, you must register after only three months.
In the case of persons under 16 years of age, it must be ensured that they are registered by the persons into whose dwelling they move.
The information described relates to the case of "living" in the place of accommodation (hotel, boarding house). For short stays, which are typical in practice, special registration forms for accommodation establishments are used (Section 29(2) and (3) and Section 30 BMG).
