If you need weapons or ammunition as a customary shooter for customary purposes, you must apply for a permit for this purpose.

If you, as a traditional shooter, require weapons and ammunition to maintain your traditions, a need for their acquisition and possession is recognised. The permit is limited to single-shot long guns and up to three bolt-action long guns as well as the ammunition intended for them. As proof, you need a certificate from the traditional shooting association that you need these weapons to maintain the tradition. An indication of customs is a long-standing tradition and practice. In this context, the use of weapons may only be a necessary component of the cultivation of customs and not the predominant purpose.

• Proof of your need by means of proof from the traditional marksmen's association
• Proof that your weapons and / or your ammunition are safely stored

• You have reached the age of 18.
• You are reliable within the meaning of the Weapons Act.
• You are personally suitable within the meaning of the Weapons Act.
• You are competent within the meaning of the Weapons Act.
• You have a need within the meaning of § 16 Weapons Act.

Administrative fee: EUR 50

• You make an application and submit the required documents.
