The institutional ID card (SMC-B) enables people working in the healthcare professions at an institution to access the telematics infrastructure (TI). The telematics infrastructure networks all participants in the healthcare system and will thus enable access to the electronic patient file (ePA) in the future, for example.
You can only block your institutional ID card (SMC-B) with the trust service provider from which you received the card. To block the card, please use the application/customer portal of your trust service provider on their website
You initiate the blocking of the SMC-B in the application/customer portal of your trust service provider from whom you received the card. They will provide you with further information on the procedure. The procedure may vary depending on the provider.
