If you want to set up a slot machine, you need a certificate from a chamber of industry and commerce on the instruction on player and youth protection for slot machine operators.

To set up slot machines, you need a permit. "Setting up" means that you operate a machine and earn money with it, for example in your pub. For the permit, you must, among other things, prove that you have attended the instruction at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

The course consists of at least six 45-minute lessons. The Chamber of Industry and Commerce will issue a certificate if you have attended the course without any absences. The course covers the following subjects:

• Trade regulations and gaming ordinance
• Gaming hall law of the federal states
• Youth protection law

In addition to traders, employees are also obliged to participate. Office staff and employees with other duties do not require IHK training on the protection of gamblers and minors.

The training is given in German, so you must have a good knowledge of German.

Fees are charged according to the fee regulations of the responsible IHK.

The training is carried out and certified by the IHK.
