The childcare allowance is intended to give families with young children more freedom to organize their family life according to their own wishes.

If you care for your child privately, you have been receiving childcare allowance on application since August 1, 2013.

It is paid for children born after July 31, 2012.

As a rule, you can receive the childcare allowance from the 15th to the 36th month of your child's life.
You can already receive it before the 15th month of life if you have already fully claimed the parental allowance to which you are entitled.

The childcare allowance amounts to:

• from August 1, 2013, 100.00 euros per month for children in their second year of life,
• from August 1, 2014, 150.00 euros per month for children in their second and third year of life.
