If you are expected to be permanently confined to a hospital, nursing home, or similar facility, then you may be exempt from the requirement to have an ID card.
If you are likely to be permanently accommodated in a hospital, nursing home or similar institution, then you can be exempted from the obligation to have an ID card - in other words, from the obligation to have an ID card.
This is the case, for example, if you are no longer able to live in your home because of your medical condition.
If you are no longer able to apply for the exemption for yourself, an authorized person can do this for you.
You can cancel the exemption at any time. All you need to do is apply for an identity card or passport.

- The authority issues you an unlimited certificate stating that you are exempt from the ID card requirement.
- If you apply in person, you will immediately receive confirmation of the exemption. If you apply in writing, the competent authority will send you the confirmation.
