According to § 75 of the German Medicines Act (AMG), pharmaceutical companies may only commission persons with appropriate expertise to visit members of health care professions full-time in order to provide them with professional information about medicinal products (pharmaceutical consultants).
Possess the expertise
- pharmacists or persons with a certificate of examination passed after completing university studies in pharmacy, chemistry, biology, human or veterinary medicine,
- pharmacist assistants and persons with completed training as technical assistants in pharmacy, chemistry, biology, human or veterinary medicine,
- Pharmaceutical sales representatives.
Pursuant to Paragraph 75(3) of the AMG, the competent authority may recognise as sufficient an examination passed or completed training which is at least equivalent to one of the training courses of the persons mentioned.
