If you want to send pharmacy-only medicines, you need a permit to do so.

• If premises outside the approved pharmacy premises are to be used for the mail-order business: Details of the size, nature, furnishings and function of the additional operating premises, submitting floor plans to scale and the rental agreement)

• Dispatch may only take place from a public pharmacy for which an operating license has been issued, in addition to normal pharmacy operations
• The legal regulations for pharmacy operations apply
• A quality assurance system for the dispatch process must be in place

Note: All pharmaceutical distributors who operate a webshop must be entered in a central register at the German Institute for Medical Documentation and Information - DIMDI.

Administration fee: 150,00 Euro

The Institute for Medical Documentation and Information (DIMDI) maintains a mail-order pharmacy register in which all German pharmacies with a mail-order license are listed. DIMDI awards these retailers a security logo, which the providers can also display on their homepage. Consumers can view the mail-order pharmacy register on the DIMDI website.
