Have you discovered a damaged traffic sign or a malfunctioning traffic light? Please report this immediately to the local road construction authority, giving the exact location (town, street, house number), so that the damage or malfunction can be repaired and road safety can be guaranteed.

Note:
Missing or failed traffic signs can pose an acute danger to road traffic. In such and similar cases where there is an immediate danger and you are unable to contact the responsible authority for various reasons, it is advisable to inform the police.
The local road construction authority.
The responsible road construction authority is
- for freeways, federal roads (exception: through roads in towns with more than 80,000 inhabitants) and state roads (exception: through roads in municipalities with more than 30,000 inhabitants):
Hessen Mobil - Road and Traffic Management; - for district roads as a rule:
the district committee in rural districts, the magistrate in urban districts; - for municipal roads as well as state and district roads in municipalities with more than 30,000 inhabitants:
the municipal council (in cities: the magistrate).
Tip:
In most cases, it is sufficient to report the fault to the city or municipal administration. In any case, they will tell you who is responsible for faults on traffic signs and other traffic facilities.
