Have you suffered damage to your health as a result of an unjustified deprivation of liberty or another official measure that served the purpose of political persecution and was this measure revoked in the course of rehabilitation proceedings under the Administrative Rehabilitation Act (VwRehaG) or the Criminal Rehabilitation Act (StrRehaG) or declared to be completely incompatible with the fundamental principles of a constitutional state?
If so, you can apply for benefits under the above-mentioned laws due to the health and economic consequences of this injury.

• Birth certificate, identity card or passport if the application is submitted in person,
• confirmation of registration,
• any medical documents in your possession (e.g. medical reports),
• if applicable, a power of attorney, the guardian's identity card or a certificate of appointment.

Please refer to the relevant application form for details of other documents required or ask the relevant office.

In principle, benefits are granted from the date of application.

The application should be sent to the Hessian Office for Social Security and Social Affairs responsible for your place of residence. You can find the relevant contact persons for social compensation law (SER) under "Versorgungsämter Regierungspräsidium Gießen".
