Landesblindengeld

The state blind allowance is a benefit of the state of Hesse, which is granted regardless of income and assets. Under certain conditions, it is provided to people who are blind people, people who are of equal status to blind people and people with severe visual disabilities. It serves to compensate for the additional expenses due to disability.

•You can apply for the approval of blind allowance under the State Blind Allowance Act directly from the LWV Hessen.
•An ophthalmologist's certificate.

The costs for the ophthalmological certificate are to be borne by the applicant.

A benefit approval is only possible after receipt of the application at the Landeswohlfahrtsverband Hessen.

In the case of higher blindness-related additional expenses, benefits for the blind can be applied for in accordance with § 72 SGB XII in addition to the flat-rate state allowance for the blind. See also the keyword aid for the blind/top-up benefit
