With a category T driving license (colloquially known as a "large tractor driving license"), you can drive more powerful vehicles in agriculture and forestry.

With a category T driving license (colloquially known as a "large tractor driver's license"), you can drive more powerful vehicles in agriculture and forestry. This category allows you to drive tractors up to 60 km/h. A maximum speed limit of 40 km/h applies to self-propelled working machines and feed mixers. Here too, a trailer may also be towed.

The T driving license category is issued for an unlimited period.

Driving license category T is a national category. It is not valid in other countries without further ado.

• Designation of a driving school
• Identity card or passport (including registration certificate if applicable)
• current driving license
• a biometric photograph in accordance with the provisions of the Passport Ordinance (35 x 45 mm, portrait format, frontal view).
• Proof of participation in a first aid training course
• Proof of eyesight in accordance with Annex 6 No. 1.1 to the FeV (not older than 2 years)

• You must have your normal place of residence in the Federal Republic of Germany
• You must have reached the minimum age of 16 years

The fees are set by the competent authority in accordance with the applicable scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOst).

You must apply for the extension of your driving license to include category T at the driving license authority responsible for you.

The processing time depends on the workload of the responsible authority.

The application for the initial issue of a driving license expires if the theory test has not been passed within twelve months of receipt of the test application.
