They can extend their driving licence to include the driving licence category L (colloquially "small tractor driving licence")
You can add category L to your driving licence.
The category L driving licence is the ''small'' tractor licence. With it, you can already carry out agricultural or forestry work at the age of 16, but only with a maximum speed of 40 km/h and with trailer a maximum of 25 km/h.

- You must have your main residence in the Federal Republic of Germany
- You must have reached the minimum age of 16 years (§ 10 Driving Licence Ordinance).
The driving licence authority charges in accordance with the scale of charges for road traffic measures.
You must submit an application for an extension of your driving licence to category L to the driving licence authority responsible for you.
The practical examination must be taken within twelve months of passing the theory test. Otherwise, the theory test loses its validity.
