With the driving licence category AM, you can drive two- and three-wheeled mopeds as well as light quadricycles.

With the driving licence class A1 you can drive motorcycles with up to 125 cc displacement and up to 11 kW of power.

With the driving licence category A2 you can drive motorcycles up to 35 kW power, whose output power does not exceed 70 kW.

With driving licence class A, you can drive motorcycles and three-wheeled motor vehicles.

Driving licence categories AM, A1, A2 and A are issued for an unlimited period.

• Proof of participation in a training course in first aid

• You must have your main residence in the Federal Republic of German country

The fee is based on the scale of charges for road transport measures (GebOSt).

You must submit an application for a category AM, A1, A2 or A licence to the competent driving licence authority.

The processing time depends on the workload of the responsible driving licence authority.

The application for the first issue of a driving licence shall lapse if the theory test has not been passed within twelve months of receipt of the test order or the practical test has not been passed within twelve months of passing the theory test.
